Next job on my gti is to renew the suspension, at the moment getting the parts together so far i've bought the following, new shocks front & rear new top mounts front & rear new drop links new trackrod ends all these were bought standard oe parts, what i want is some ideas about what springs to get and what bushes for the rear beam. I originally wanted eibach 30mm lowering springs but can't find anyone supplying them apparently they dont list any springs for an escort from 96 onwards in their 2012 catalogue, my next choice pi 35mm lower springs anyone know much about these. I want poly bushes for the rear beam there seems to be a big price difference on whats on offer out there so whats the best all rounder. Just want to make it clear set up isn't going to be for regular track use 40mm drop is the very max, what im trying to do is get the car feeling as tight and firm as when it was new with a little improvement. Havn't bought new lower suspension arms these were replaced less than 2000 miles ago for mot looking forward to your ideas  tomsy

Probably 20mm or so lower than a standard GTI. I could get them for you but sometimes it's cheaper to buy from Germany.

Have you got a link for a web site so i could buy direct

No. There are lots of H&R resellers, including me.

Dont know alot about suspension and whats good to be honest but having messed about with poly bushing ill say that they go along way to making a car feel 'tight' and 'right' as you put it, dont do what I did and combine is with solid as you like coilovers and have to replace them every year, £70 each, ahh so glad the 60-70mm dropped days are behind me.

Lower and upper strut braces too might be worth it, i'd speak to JC, dude has nearly every brace, bush, adjustable camber and all that handling sh1t going, round the track I was impressed by the lack of understeer and body roll and you saw how light I was!

Dont think i'll be going as far as jc has for the ultimate handling escort, but a strut brace is defo on my shopping list as i had one on a previous escort might try a rear one as well.

I have some eibach springs if you just want the rears?

(as bought a set and only needed the rears)

think they are in good nick as I used them for a short while before I went for rs2k standard springs, so my car sat level as have an rs2k rear beam

Thanks for the offer jc but i want the same springs front and rear, think i'll have a look into the H&R springs mentioned on here earlier.
