Scort_CVH
hi peeps ive got my 2.0 in and running, using all the 2.0 parts as per guide. its not running very well atall tho the front oil breather has bolts blocking the pipes and a bolt blocking the bottom inlet breather hole with the top hole going to the rubber hose on the bulkhead my q is would this cause the can to have a hunting idle and hold back up the revs? JC
Injector issues? The two conversions I saw have had injector issues, so always use refurbed units with new seals
etrebus
hi peeps ive got my 2.0 in and running, using all the 2.0 parts as per guide. its not running very well atall tho the front oil breather has bolts blocking the pipes and a bolt blocking the bottom inlet breather hole with the top hole going to the rubber hose on the bulkhead my q is would this cause the can to have a hunting idle and hold back up the revs? they shouldn't have bolts in them lol check each pipe properly for leaks and connect them properly also check inlet manifold as a air leak will cause poor running i assume you have 2.0 throttle body/2.0 maf and 2.0 ecu
Scort_CVH
cheers for answers, i replaced all the botched pipes with the pipe from my 1.8 engine, unplugging the maf made a difference jc im wondering about the injectors tbh might get them tested etrebus i meant blocked with bolts so the breather was essentially pointless lol am i right in thinking that there is only the two breathers on the inlet and no other holes? yes using all the 2.0 stuff deffo only thing i dont know is if it has the right injectors (was in an escort before so i didnt do the conversion orignally
Naylor2006
I'd start looking at possible air leaks and is the idle control valve new or clean or the same one you have always used from the 1.8? Have you totally cleaned up the throttle body as well, top and bottom? All new gaskets? How does it run when hot and does it differ to when it is cold? There are so many things to consider, you might have put the engine together perfectly but now have a different issue Would be worth checking out if they are the right injectors, how much do you know about the engine? Even a poorly head gasket could cause rubbish idle and pulling issues. New plugs, new leads, coil pack, unfortunately its a big old list or stuff that could cause these symptoms. To be fair you have simular symptoms to my mate who was running the wrong MAF for a while when he did his. Stu
I wouldn't bother dicking around with sensors or injectors until you get the basics sorted out, like the PCV system.

Going to hand it over to a garage as i've got to move house
