supersport Posted September 23, 2012 Share Posted September 23, 2012 the clutch in my MK5 is on the floor. i put a new one in before i fitted the engine. can i adjust the pedel so it's higher?also are the cables the same between bc and ib5? supersport Posted November 25, 2012 Author Share Posted November 25, 2012 need to get this sorted now. i've put a spacer on the cable but it's still the same. if you pump the pedel a couple of timesit sort of moves the bite up the pedel a bit but then goes back to where it was the next time you use the clutch. shawdreamer Posted November 27, 2012 Share Posted November 27, 2012 yeah, won't take me long. also it's was fine before the swap. you must have fingers that are knitting needle thin but as strong as tungsten aswell as having as spine capable of even the most challenging yoga positions. Changing out the ratchet on the clutch pedal is one of the most fiddly, awkward, hard to access jobs you can have on an escort..... might sound and appear simple to do but once your on your back with your legs over the back of the drivers seat and your head wedged down near the pedals trying to pull locking clips out and position spacers rings while trying to insert a large cumbersome hinge rod all in a tight space and above your head in the dark recesses of the dash..... you start to get a little grumpy.
