shocks+springs+.."some 'thing'.." from escort mk6 1.

Hey, so a fella had crashed his 1997 1.8TD Escort estate and he's selling it in parts

I drive the same year Escort but petrol 1.8 16v and my front struts are on their way to the bin as well as there's something wrong with the left "thing" (steering knuckle maybe) //to which the strut bottom bolts to and which carries the wheel bearing and the brake caliper etc//, so the top of the tire is kinda leaned towards the engine and the tire is worn on the inside.

So i'm thinking will all these parts from his car fit on mine? The main concern is for the driveshafts ends which go in the steering knuckle will it be the same diameter and have the same number of 'pins' as mine? I suppose he had (car is for scrap, he took only these parts and some else) the same gearbox as mine (ib5 on a '97 escort) despite it's turbo-diesel, but i need to be sure.

Here are some pics:

Think you mean the 'Hub'. The bit that the brakes attach to as well as the bottom of the suspension strut. I cant see why it wouldnt fit yours at all. Someone else should be able to clarify this.

The wheels should lean in towards the engine at the top slightly but if you have bent anything it would be the shock, the uneven tyre wear could also be due to the tracking being out

The above would be interchangeable but the springs are for the heavier diesel engine and would raise the front ride height
