Need a guide to reprogram new key using with Red key

Hi all,

 

Can anybody tell me or have a guide on how to program a new key for a MK6 escort 1.8?

 

I have 3 keys with the car one with a touch, one plain black and red master key.

 

I need to replace the key with the touch as it wont open or lock the car because it badly worn.

whats 'with a touch'

 

i assume thats remote locking is it?

 

or maybe with a torch?

step 1.

 

you'll need your red master key and a minimum of one additional uncoded ford standard key cut to fit your ignition barrel.

 

step 2.

 

Open vehicle via drivers door

 

step 3.

 

upon entering vehicle, insert red "master key" into ignition barrel and turn to "Acc" position on barrel, if successful the imobilizer led indicator should give the appropriate flash

 

step 4.

 

turn the red "master key" to its full extent in the ignition barrel until vehicle engine actually starts.

 

step 5.

This post from another forum explains the procedure for a Ford Scorpio, I assumes it'll be same proceedure for any other Ford with PATS.

 

Somewhere in the thread it's states the programming info is in the cars user manual, maybe worth a look if you have one.
