mk2 mondeo ghia with electric sunroof uses the same motor and switch as the escort.

simply undo the three torx bolts holding the motor in mondeo, remove motor and wire from motor to switch also. shroud on mondeo is no use in escort so don't buy one.

remove your handle and shroud from escort,

bolt in new motor .

wires for electric sunroof may be tucked down the drivers footwell, they were in my p reg ghia escort.

go to ford garage and order a new shroud for electric sunroof at a cost of around£ 17.

fit switch into shround and screw it in.

simple really.

motor you need from mondeo with switch and wire to switch.

shroud fitted in my old escort, screws to remove it are under flaps where visors clip in.

simply feed wire up a piller if its fitted as standard mate, hope this help you.

Thanks for that doesn't sound too bad at all thanks for the pictures they really help. And when you say ford garage do you mean go to a dealers garage? I'm gonna have a look see if I can find the motor now I know what I'm doing.

Also how does this help me with getting remote central locking on mine because it's mentioned somewhere on here that it that you need electric sunroof or the wiring to connect rcl? If so what else do I need for that? Thanks again for the info a great help!

Just found one on eBay pressed buy it now for £20 but it's got all the wires even what I'd need to connect to in the footwell, don't know if that's cheap or not but hay ho. Just need to order the cowling?

It was eBay item number 191030882470 don't know how to upload picture yet I'm a bit slow at everything hahaha.

yes main dealer for cover, good price for motor,

iircc remote locking sensor is in the courtesy light, so you need to source that.

Right that might already be out simply but I ain't sure what do you mean source? And in the courtesy light of the mondeo unit I've got?

Hello folks,

I thought I would drag this thread up as after looking at it I thought I would have a go at doing it but, after finding the red plug behind the drivers kick panel. I don't think it's going to be long enough to reach ! My question is, is their more tucked away higher up behind the fuse box maybe ? Or, do I cut and extend the wires until they reach ? Any help would be appreciated :thumb:

Cheers
