scottybo
i have been offered a paddle clutch for super cheap, that was originally fitted to a mk6 gti. ive had a look at it and theres plenty of life left in it so im considering buying it just wanted to ask (as ive never used one) if there are any drawbacks to using a paddle clutch over a regular one? i would use it for my 130 build build with ib5 box and s2 lsd

Ahmotorsport
A paddle clutch is either engaged or not. There is no real smooth take up in drive.
Stu
You can slip a paddle clutch just fine.. It depends on the particular clutch in question, but really you don't want to use one unless you need to.
scottybo
Ok guys thx for the advice! Danzetec
My clutch slips fine but makes a noise doing it, if it had an uprated pressure plate it would become very on/off There isn't much point fitting one unless you have found the limit of a standard clutch plate

Ahmotorsport
It's not power a clutch doesn't like. It's torque.
