Just bought a 1996 406 1.9 td GLX and im enjoying the fact I can now get 45mpg and still drive like a loon in comfort!! Here are the piccy's, shes a bit dirty to say the least, but hay, its winter, keeping a car clean now is like trying to make American's not carry handguns!!!!

De-badged already, only had the car 2 hours and started on it! Check out the polished bits, vs not polished, lol!

Saving up for a nice lowering kit (shall we say as low as possible), and some nice deep dish euro style rims, or maybe something with a nice polish lip, hell, I could even be pesrsuade to buy some multispokes, once i get my old escort sold!!!!

Mind you, theres some nice crystal side indicators and lexus rear lights out there that have taken my fancy as well...............

And heres my other little lady, my 1400 Azure (L) which is for sale sadly, as i don't have the room to keep her (and I could use the cash at the minate!).

Check out those trims!! My old 17's are going to a Focus soon for a cash injection.

Back to standard after fitting my rs1600i recaro's, and now taken em out and keeping em for something else that i'm going to save for over the next year!! Well she mightn't be 100% outside, be shes 100% spotless inside! :thumb:

Yea cheers folks, I want something practical and im going to take subtle to the extreme (ie, lots of cheap things), basicially like this below.

A blistein lowering kit with new soft shocks that are nearly as soft as OE versions and 50mm springs is only £200 (hay, shes never going to be a street racer, so I can't be bothered with super hard shocks!), some window tints and then a nice set of 206 GTI 16 inch rims will keep me happy.

Not doing anything to the outside other than crystal front indicators, a badgeless front grill (which im going to have to make myself.....)

and smoothing the rear boot lock, as the bootlid needs a respray thanks to a few nasty deep scratches (perfectionist excuses, lol!), and a small oval twin exit system, which I want for looks and want little noise at all.

Mind you, I am keeping my eye open on ebay for a nice 406 SRI Turbo interior full leather interior with recaro seats front and back (semi winged rear seats, maddness!), yes, they made a 2.0 8v turbo charged 406 with over 160bhp as standard on the early models, as rare as a virgin prozzie in Liverpool docks.

Standard, well, as standard as i could lol!
