basskiddanny
Somebody i know local says that some GTI's had rear discs? I've personally never heard of this and don't think anybody on here has a GTI that had rear discs standard?
Muzz
Don't think so, everyone with rear discs has had an RS2k conversion as far as i know. Only costs a few quid if you don't have ABS otherwise your looking into £500ish.

basskiddanny
Just as i thought then, it was a guy off FEOC and lives local to me who said it. Im not going for the conversion because ive heard horror stories of the rear discs locking before the front.

mutley
utter crap. NO GTi has rear discs as std on drums all GTi's have 4 wheel abs so only way to keep that and have rear discs is pumaspeed disc conversion.. and yes its around £

basskiddanny
Mine doesnt have ABS anyway, so the rs2000 conversion should be ok if i use the rs2000 beam? Just dont want the rears locking up. Met Dave this morning and he said his rear discs are fine. Will changing the brakes have a massive affect on my insurance? I dont think ill be changing them without telling the insurance, thats just the way it goes Cant afford not to be fully covered. But its not yet, gotta wait till im 19, just risking it until then.
