steve_sport_scort
dont think so cause Steve has a GTi and also has this plug. steve does urs have ABS?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>mine has the abs,AND..... when i checked again for the plug earlier today, i couldnt find it my si deffinately had it, cos i was worried about it being there, but my gti doesnt seem to have it, and i can't seem to spot one anywhere id be surprised if it was the abs, seems to be abit out the way up there, but the only other suggestion we'v got is the headlight washers, but the wiring diagrams in my haynes manual dont show these on post 95 models.il have another look around for it tomorrow, but it could be the abs sensor plug

Mike C
well I saw it on Si's cab today and I still say the most feasible usage for it is butt plug
magicdragon
Don't know what it's for but can tell you it links back to the temperature sender sensor? I have ABS and i still have it just hanging there.
scouse
ok found it again on Autodata CD2 abd thought id post some of the info about it and how to use it. Accessing Engine at normal operating temperature. Ensure ignition switched OFF. Bridge data link connector (DLC) terminals 2 and 3 Fig. 1 . Connect LED test lamp negative connection to DLC terminal 2 Fig. 1 . Connect LED test lamp positive connection to DLC terminal 1 Fig. 1 . Switch ignition ON. Check that LED illuminates. Trouble codes are displayed after 10-25 seconds Fig. 2 [A]. Note trouble codes. Compare with trouble code table. Trouble codes are displayed by illuminated LED switching OFF for approximately 1 second Fig. 2 . Each trouble code consists of two groups. LED illuminates for approximately 2 seconds between each group Fig. 2 [C]. NOTE: Trouble codes ending in '0' are displayed with only 1 group. LED illuminates for approximately 5 seconds between each trouble code Fig. 2 [D]. For example: Trouble code 24 displayed. Trouble code(s) are displayed twice. hope this helps
bluliz
thats really useful. nice one. only thing is that this plug ain't the triangle one. and it only has 2 connections. does the CD give a list of the codes and faults? because that could be very useful. nice work mate!! Stu
The test connector typically has a red plug in it to stop moisture causing corrosion.. just for reference, these three lines are actually present in the diagnostics connector in the passenger footwell too
