Power Sunroof Modification idea

I fitted my Mondeo sunroof motor to my '97 gti the other day, fitted and works perfect, but i fort to myself, as flash as a power sunroof in an escort may be, i fink it can be one better....

my dad has a P-reg *Caugh* vauxhall *Caugh* vectra 1.8 GLX, and with the electric windows, you dont have to hold the button down untill the window is fully open.. You simply press it once to activate it to open, the press again once its open to the level of desire... and the same on closing... sounds complicated...hum hope you all get me!

well, it must run on a series of relays (poss 3 per direction (up+down) open switch Clicks one to activate a 2nd that stays on and powers the motor and keep the window opening, and a 3rd that de-activates the motor when the button is pressed for the 2nd time.. ??

I would like to try modify this to my escort's power sunroof switch, so you click the Slide Open (not tilt) button , once and it will open it all the way (basically so you dont have to sit there pointing at the sealing till its rite open!)..

If anyone sees sense in this and wants to try beet me to it, plz feel free, and once done, tell me how you did it, as even tho i want to do it myself, i cant really find time!

Isnt there a mondeo that has this electric window function? and runs off one relay?

iirc its in the whole unit. sort of built in to the motor housing

if i remember correctly

took me a while to work that one out

oh yeah in answer to ur earlier question the relay for the sunroof is in with the motor and casing.

i'm not sure where the relays are for the one shot windows. have a check on a mondeo in a scrap yard, most likely the doors as the switches are there.
