Thats cool, do they fit electric rear windows in high-spec european models or summat? Wouldn't you want the rear switches on the door cards as well tho?

why not take the mechanism from the mondeo or the sierra and convert it?

I've got the 4 way switch from a mondeo to go in mine. Waiting for the motors to turn up. I'm not putting switches in the rear so as to stop the kids playing with them like they do in the Veccy! Edited September 28, 2005 by marsbar1973

From a Mondeo. Should arrive tomorrow hopefully. Ready for a good fiddle with over the weekend, weather permitting!

what are u gonna do about the regulators that stop it half way down on the rear windows?

Shall keep you informed. As for the regulators, I'll cross that one when I come to it. I'll make sure to do photo's throughout and try to come up with a decent how to!

how are you going to plug the hole for the winder?

 

if anything i'd put switches there and then have a switch up front that disables the rear switches.

We plugged up the holes easily enough in the Vectra. Can't remember what the plastic caps are called now, but thats no worries. I thought about having switches in the back, but the kids would go nuts. I'd rather have TOTAL control over the windows! Was going to have the disable switch in the front, but in the Vectra even with the windows disabled the brats go nuts flicking them. Instead of me getting distracted telling them to leave well alone every five minutes, it's best if there's nothing there for them to start on.

you can get a full kit from ford with rear door cards with switchs, and proper winder mechs,

but its not cheap,

the mechs are about £70 each and the door cards are about £45,

but thats not to bad for ford stuff really

Mondeo motors probably wont work they use a diff window fixing, more like the front windows AFAIK, i;m experimenting with sierra motors which use a similar setup...
