Troys Escort
well it was last week during the horrific weather, was following two of my friends along a nice country road when we came to a blind summit as we go over it (at 40 by the way) the other side is a completely gridlocked traffic jam. my wheels lockd and skidded in the rain and i smashed into the back of my friend!!! this is the damage - ruined parts - bumper, bonnet, headlights, fog lights, grill, slam panel, radiator must be dead but i cant open the bonnet!! cant decide whether i should try and save it or move on. the repair cost might be too much

ScORTED
agree with yule... but you need to get the bonnet off to asses the damage, if your not confidant doing it yourself then get a garage to quote on the repairs for you... what car did you crash into and how much damage did it suffer

ScORTED
thats nice work, you do realise your 17's won't have helped with stopping especially not if it was damp i suggest you either brake it if you have the space which judging by the fact the write off is parked on the street you don't or flog it whole, stick it on ebay as it is you'll get enough to buy another escort as someone will have it for the wheels etc

ScORTED
get a slam panel welded in, after checking the inner wings... stick a bumper, radiator and bonnet on your motoring again... get the bonnet up[ and have a look at the damage
Troys Escort
i wasnt driving too close, quite the opposite really a i was waiting for my bro to catch up, the que was literally just over the hill i simply dont know anything about fixing cars, by the time i have all the new parts, get the sprayed and someone to fit them, i think it will be around £600 someone has already offered me £450 for the whole car, but i know i can get more if i break it, cant decide
mutley
how can you say you wasnt too close?? you hit the car in front any your muppet friends done the same. hope your friends with your insurance company as everyone else in front will be claiming from your insurance your gonna be arsed rape for years with that claim, lesson learned hopefully
ScORTED
the highway code says you should be able to stop in the distance you can see to be clear, roadcraft also teaches this philosophy and much more. if you aproach a blind summit you should slow accordingly, it was an accident but like many accidents it was caused by negligence, if not it wouldn't have happened
Troys Escort
woah woah woah!!! i have already said it was my fault, and insurance is being dealt with i think i would have easily been able to stop if it wasnt flooding though - so i will leave it at that
ScORTED
yeah course... i wasn't having a go, just stating the facts.. also the highway code tells you to adjust your driving for the conditions... i'm assuming noone was hurt and that everyone was insured, if so theres no problem. hope you get it all sorted fella
