Stu
Purchased some dampers today.. They're DeCarbon ones so should be fairly nice (OEM Gas type).. The fronts aren't 100% DeCarbon but I need to check when they arrive.. Only £52 for all four, brand new, thanks to the wonders of the 'bay. http://i20.ebayimg.com/05/i/000/ba/d6/4d26_1_b.JPGhttp://i24.ebayimg.com/05/i/000/ba/d6/52f3_1_b.JPG I will most likely use a set of Eibach springs with these dampers, but I am potentially going to get the rear beam modified to have adjustable ride height

Stu
Well my turbo manifold arrived today and i've had a little play... Thanks to ploppy for the donor vehicle (he doesn't know yet)..... A slight packaging issue may be on the cards http://di.cx/gallery/albums/escort_saloon/stu_a300_071023_005.sized.jpg http://di.cx/gallery/albums/escort_saloon/stu_a300_071023_006.sized.jpg I do intend to have the turbo manifold flange cut at an angle to bring the turbo back in towards the head, but who knows if it'll be enough! I think the turbo is gonna hit teh bonnet too, so some creativity may be required there......
Stu
Just had a quick measure done by ploppy and the cam cover<>slam panel gap on an Escort is 170mm......... unfortunately the gap on the fiesta above is 200mm which means the escort is even tighter! Definate challenge............

Not sure yet, i've not even taken my beam out of it's shrink-wrap I did have a quick glance at a mk5b in at the moment and it may be possible just to weld new mounts onto the beam with a slot in for adjustment.. It's not really rocket science though, as long as you do it safely..
nick_ov_uk
oh your doing it that way, im doing mine like a sandwhich plate in between the mount and the chassis i might give them both a try and see whats best.

I'm really not sure yet, it's a while away from being looked at. I might even yet go for some coilovers to my spec. for the road which nullifies any problem with ride height. what front brakes are you gonna be using? im not sure if you have already mentioned it lol No idea yet but probably ST170 brakes (as i'm using 16" wheels). Looking to use a Cosworth brake pump (servo) for the ultimate pedal feel! Where there's a will, there's a way! Angle grinder That most definately will be getting used..... have fun getting that lot in there It's all about the challenge
