Stu
Every time I buy a new/sensible car, I get bored of it within a few months and want something noisy and offensive. It happens every time. Would it be different with a Porsche? I honestly don't know. The Escort cost wouldn't be far off a cheap Boxster actually...... Trig
technically good cars but unfortunalty they scream i cant afford a 911!Have you ever driven one? They are a completely different animal and I would choose a boxster over an N/A 911 every day of the week.

I have actually lol, was an early one,99 plate 2.5 i believe, nice drive and obviously better than an escort, but somehow didnt do it for me, of course its a porsche but as i said it says "look at me i cant afford a 911", but i wasnt comparing it to an N/A 911, i was comparing to a 911 turbo, completely different animal, bit of an obvious choice dont you think. Lee R
people who think "look at me, I can't afford a 911", generally can't even afford the Boxster.. another chestnut formed out of jealousy imo.

ronal escort 1.8 16v
boxsters are well nice i think the people that call them hair dressers cars are just jealous cos they will never be able to afford one all porsches are awesome!
Trig
boxster prices are quite cheap so as said above its getting nearer escort money! Or did you mean escort cosworth money So if the old 'you got a boxster because you cant afford a 911' applies then I guess we all bought escorts beacuse we couldnt afford GT's. Like Lee said, its one of those old chestnuts that has developed from jealousy, not an informed opinion. Just incase you didnt know, Porsche make other cars than a 911, and have done for quite a while.
Stu
hey let's not violate this thread by arguing about which Porsche is best.. I'd have a Carerra GT if they did them in RHD It was about Escort Vs 'Porsche'.. Anyway i've arranged a drive of both the Boxster and Cayman next week... Stu
Yes.. RS6.. mega.. most practical for me.. but I think i'd be bored with it very quickly.. Last v6 one I went in, sure was quick, but it wasn't offensive or brutal, and I just need that!
