dansGTI Posted November 13, 2007 Share Posted November 13, 2007 Strange this one. I have a Focus ST3, Astra GSI Turbo, the Escy GTI, and between the missus and i, the Mondeo ST TDCI. If i just put the escort, asty and focus together i could have quite a nice car around the 25k mark. Yet strangely, the car thats pampered and in the garage is the 9 year old escort. And 30k worth of cars sits on the drive (Mondy, Focus+Astra)............. Can i explain that? No. even i think its stupid but there we go! I know my escort is going to be a money pit next year with what im doing but do i care? all cars lose money, and i am happy for that car to lose that money. If i spend a further 7k on it as planned, i know that will only ever get me 3k MAX back if i sold it. So i only lose 4k............ A newish car in a couple of years loses that. Stu Posted December 10, 2007 Author Share Posted December 10, 2007 I'm rebuilding the 2L zetec i've got and throwing it in as-is. Goodbye to the big turbo conversion - Hello cheap runaround. The leather interior has gone in, i'll be throwing on a disc rear beam and some 300mm brakes. MTX75 is going in too. Need to sort out some dampers and springs and all is well. Sorry for the abandoned project, but you can blame Porsche for creating such wonderful cars! ps: following bits are for sale.. Garrett GT32 turbo (new, rated to 400hp) - £500Cast Zetec Turbo Manifold - £200Audi External Wastegates (2 of and a rebuild kit) - £100 the lot (retail is about £2k for these!)Pectel T2 ECU (just refurbished and flashed by Pectel to latest spec) - £700 I'm sure there's some other bits, i'll post them when I find them..
