Bit of a head ache lately sorting out all the JIC AN fitting sizes but I think I am on top of it now.

 

As with a few they weren't strait forward but after Coley measured for me it seems some are 5/8 BSP to -16, started ordering these up for the dry sump system.

 

Also had head ache with trying to mount my 52's onto my CNC DTH inlet, as you'll see in the pics, inlet machined with 8mm holes for mounting but I couldn't get the 8mm stud or cap head to work on tb's because injector housing is to low.

 

So thanks to Mick following my design request he made me some 8mm to 6mm thread / stud reducers, they worked well.

More when I start fitting bulk head up for dry sump, fuel lines and also PAS lines from electric PAS pump.

It is massive bud, not just the pic.

-16 needed to feed the engines oil supply, -12 return to oil tank in boot from 2 scavenger pipes from sump pan, also return to tank will be fed through very large oil cooler, no oil thermostat needed on dry sump though so thats a bonus.

Spent a few hours up the unit yesterday, got a head ache :cry:

 

 

 

Looking on where to fit the bulk head fitting for the main dry sump feed, as -16 pipe doesn't bend well, I think I am going to have to bring it into cockpit via the drivers side foot well next to my clutch pedal.

fitted rad up just to check for clearance on the alt, standard rad which I will be upgrading, we have dropped the Maxi rad off for a quote on being remade and been quoted £700 http://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif so can wait for a bit lol

Remember my rocker cover that has no oil filler cap... perfect for the dry sump set up as I don't need one... came out of a black cab lol

Because my engine has been dropped by an inch or so the gear selector no longer is a strait fit, I have had to take half inch off of the brace bar as it would fit up.

Also to answer a few emails/PM's I have had recently mainly from over sea's, this engine is not Mountune! I have built it, the only thing Mountune in here is the thermostat housing! owh and a sticker in the unit...

Feck all else to do with Mountune!!! if you want a Mountune engine... email them or read my thread properly! annoying!

 

I had a lucky escape yesterday also, placed the car on axle stands using my hoist, the hoist I have had for 20 years now and never let me down, yesterday when the car was 3ft in the air... the hoist let go and dropped the car and hitting me in the back, Lucifer 2 had her first three foot landing and stud up well lol

Some more parts arrived today for the on-going oil feed puzzle

 

 

-16 main sump feeds

-12 scavenger pump return feeds

-12 bulk head fittings

-16/-12 to 5/8BSP catch tank feeds

-10 to -6 reducers for FUELAB FPR feeds

 

also waiting on my -16 pipe work to come, should be here Monday so won't be doing anything till that arrives.

Is this a galaxy rs2k hybrid engine? Sorry i just dnt wanna sift thru the entire thread to find out lol

 

i ask as im rly interested in building one but thers very little info on the net about them

 

I'd answer you if I hadn't spoken about the engine a 100 times already, easy enough to find info if you flick through the thread ya lazy git lol

My -16 hose arrived, no free gift though :cry:

 

I emailed um asking where's my free gift for lateness and they apologised again and said it's going striate in the post :cry:

 

Any way, this stuff isn't going to be easy to fit to the JIC fittings either lol
