Bryan
Well, after shelling out £50 and a bit elbow grease and some cans of paint... I now have myself a 4 eyed beast Looking class in my opinion. Notice the blue-ish tint to the outer most lamps, courtesy of Philips Ice blue headlamp bulbs. What do u guys think? Next up: Sort suspension and get some decent rims. Bryan
Thanks guys... I don't think I'll sell it now A mate of mine bought a mk5 Escort 2 door with those lights on it and he sold the car to me for £100. I've since used the shocks and the lights from it. Probably end up stripping it for useful parts again. Does anyone have any ideas why my Orion sits lower at the rear driver side than it does at the passenger side? Even with newer shocks which were perfect in the other Escort it still sits lower at one side, just slightly. Bryan.

Mk6 Si Ross
thats good news Bryan, would have been such a shame to sell for even 850 never mind 650.

Bryan
Well, I discovered what that problem was! I had 3 spare wheels in the boot and a spare battery. All of which were slightly to the right hand side of the boot. The car now sits about level on either side with the entire boot cleared out. And I managed to put an old scrap shock back in after removing it which didn't help either Bryan
Bryan
F1ACK, will 17s fit my Orion without major suspension mods? I've been told they wont...
Colin
I think they should mate, the orion is basicially an escort except with a longer wheel base, mind you, I think its far to say you gotta make sure you get the right profile of tyre and offset perfect! 17's on an Orion, I think so, F1ack has done that, with a 60mm slam as well............ F1ACK
17"s will fit straight on with no arch mods, exactly the same as the escort, the thing you need to get right though is 35mm off-set and VERY IMPORTANT that they are only 7" wide. If 7" wide they will slot nicely into the arches with no arch mods with 205x40x17 tyres no matter how much you lower the car. The most extreme I have seen is this orion, he says he has dropped it 90mm on the front and 130mm on the rear, 17" alloys and no arch mods at'll (even standard shocks ) BTW the wheel base for the escort and orions is also the same, thats why 5 door escort skirts fit onto the orion, the only bit of escort that wont fit is the rear bumper and boot...
