Exhaust Question.

I'm getting a new backbox soon as mine is pretty much dead.

I saw on europerformance.co.uk a little while ago that Piper did a 3" mild steel inward rolled backbox but that seems to have disappeared. Only the 1.8 seems to have it now, not the 1.6.

Could anyone tell me if this will fit? If not, guess I'll have to go with the outward rolled... :glare:

Yeah I'd prefer to have stainless steel but its all money ain't it... not sure what to do.

Got some people saying its not worth it as it'll outlive the car etc etc, then others saying go for stainless steel.

ive got a full magnex exhaust for sale :thumb:

By 'full', I assume you mean a full system?

And whats the size of the backbox, not interested in anything big lol.

Oh and BTW a Peco Powermaster is around £120....and its stainless steel.

clicky

That is absolutely massive! Not my cup of tea :thumb:

LOL the only tip for the escort is...

Single squared Oval 83mm x 67mm Tail Pipe 'Single G'

Which is a nice size.

TBH if you think thats too big....just get a GTI backbox.

Ohhh sorry I didn't see the other size, saw 120x90 and closed it straight away. My bad.. :nutter:

Yeah thats a good size, about 3.25 inchs. Don't really want anything bigger than that tbh.

Btw, those exhausts are exactly the same as Piper ones, Mild steel boxes with stainless tail pipes. It's either that or full stainless, box & pipe.

Cheers reid, that's abit too big. Thanks anyways mate.

Anyways, anyone know if the 1.8 backbox will fit my 1.6?

Ok cheers man. Oh, I'm going stainless now :thumb:

Just popped down my mates garage, he measured the bore to be 45mm. Here's what it says on europerformance:

Additional Notes:

# Please Quote Bore Size Of System: 105Bhp Engine (01/95-10/97) = 48Mm, 115Bhp Engine (09/95-10/96) = 52Mm & 115Bhp Engine (10/96-10/97) =48Mm. Fits Only Manual Hatchbacks.

I assume that'll fit then? (105Bhp Engine (01/95-10/97) = 48Mm)

If not, I'll just go with the outward rolled one... not much difference to be honest.
