chris179
Hi, Bought this last October to use over winter while my ST was been resprayed, been a fantastic car never had a problem with it so decided I'd keep it and use it as a 2nd car to go work and back in. How ever I've just got 6 points and my insurance has gone up, I cant afford to realisticly insure both cars and with petrol prices been the way they are at the moment I'm tempted to replace this with a 106 Diesel, for the MPG and cheaper tax/insurance. Its a 1999 T reg Escort Finesse Estate. Done 125,000miles and has full service history up to 108,000miles. I've serviced it my self since and always wrote in the service book what was replaced plus kept the receipts. Recently its had............ Rear brake shoes and cylinders,ABS sensor on O/S/F,Backbox,Front brake Pads, both wishbones replaced complete with brand new bolts and pinch bolts. Its tax'd till the end of May11 and mot'd till December. Its been a bloody brilliant car and I'd be sad to see it go, However i could do with cutting down on my collection of cars and getting something economical. In the photo its wearing Escort GTi rims, If i was to sell the car it would have its original 15inch RS7 softspokes fitted. The rear tyres have 6mm of tread and are Continental's, the fronts have 4mm and 1 is a Continental which match's the rears and the other is a Dunlop. Theres a few bits of Rust in the usual places, however it seems solid enough where it matters and the MOT tester said its a solid car. So......... whats it worth??? http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/9881/estate01.jpg

JC
~£900 IMO, decent ones are still with a reasonable price tag, mileage might put some off for a petrol, if and when the cam belt was done will be an influencing factor too
chris179
Cambelt was done at 90,000miles, Previous owner is my work colleague, and the previous one before that is his dad. most of the miles are Motorway miles, interior is as clean as the outside. Its by no means mint, but its a tidy enough example. I've always given it a wash at least once a week. Still not sure weather i want to replace it for a 106 tho haha
bronze4door
keep it and sell some of the others i wonder what my estate is worth??
chris179
yours is a tidy example with half the miles mines done? lol i reckon yours would be worth a good price? I think yours would be worth more in standard condition.
dunketh
I like that a lot. Finesse has lots of toys too. Bung it up for 1200 and see what happens.Estates seem to be worth more than cars, a normal mk6 saloon can be had for pocket change these days but its rare to find a real nice one. heavyrightfoot
I only got £600 for my GTi Estate and that was mint with 12 moths MOT and full service history
chris179
Yeah its got toys lol. That GTi estate was a nice motor, wish I'd known you had it up for so cheap lol. I have a rough price in mind which I'm going to advertise the Escort for, if it sells then great. If not I'll stick in on a SORN and wait for winter and use it again instead of the Fiesta!. Danzetec
I'd advertise it for £800 and accept offers above £
