Trig
The engine, running gear and chassis on this is good. It's just a few panels that need changing because the alpine window have leaked, nothing a couple of weekends won't solve.

scottg17
you been washing this with salt water , in all fairness they are pretty simple, i know a guy who done the whole bootfloor on his, yours looks solid around the bad bits so it should be alright the bootfloor is all one panel anyway, readily available Edited April 29, 2010 by scottg17

Trig
Scorted, the chassis is great, its solid. Cut the boot floor out yesterday, took a while, mainly because Ive never done it befor so I didnt want to hit it like a bull in a china shop. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/79790a75.jpg Its a start. I need a repair piece to support the front of the boot floor, I only need one inner wing floor section and I only need the two band floor supports, not the bigger ones. Happy days. I did check out the sills while I was faffing about, I could get away with them I reckon, one would need doing in 12 months though, so I might replace them wiith box section now while Im at it with the welder. Hopefully there will be a bit more warmth in the air tomorrow then I can cut out the sections that need plating then the next step will be to get welding. Trig
Well, another bank holiday weekend is upon us so I'm cracking on with the disco. I had to get a repair section to go where the back seats bolt on because the lip that the boot floor sat on had rusted away. After spending a bit of time this last week practicing with the welder I clamped the Z section in place and spotted it in place before proceeding to seam it. I haven't finished the seam yet, the light went against me, so I will finish it in the morning. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/d6f9220a.jpg expect alot of progress over this long weekend. Trig
Didnt manage to get as much done as I hoped. Cutting out the floor sections around the wing and prepping the area for the new panel, which also needed work, took alot longer than hoped. The section around the tub was spot welded so I had to cut the horizontal section and then grind back the lip so that the new panel will butt up nicely http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/a2244cc1.jpg The sections at the front were quite fiddly, came out eventually http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/277d7568.jpg The driver side was even more difficult thanks to the fuel filler section and the pipes to the fuel tank, it took alot more time to get this section ground back to the upright http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/00801799.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1322465a.jpg This is the floor kit that is to go in. The wing sections needed a bit of work at the front to get them to fit snugly into the triangular section and the lip they have to sit on the lip of the tub was too deep and needed taking down a little. I put the 4 supports on top of the main floor section to show where they go. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/706e8b13.jpg Here are the wing sections and main supports in place, not fixed in, just placed to check the fit http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/d1c5be34.jpg And this is what it will look like when finished http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/09fdba4a.jpg It all still needs fixing in, that wont take too long though in comparison to the cutting and prep to get this far. Then it can be primed and I can get on with patching up the rear wheel arches.
