sean_GTI
Hi, We just bought another escort gti R reg a few days ago and having problems tryin to get insurance. We had a gti about 2 yrs ago and the insurance was only about £700. My finance is insuring for me with me as a named driver (preferably fully comp) which is how the insurance was for the last gti I had, which was with Quinn but they've gone bust and no longer trade. Shes held her licence for 8yrs, shes 27 owns her own car with 4 yrs no claims. Ive held my licence for 3yrs, Im 24. We are both fully comp on her toyota but I dont have any no claims, she has 4yrs. Ive been on confused.com for quotes on the escort with my finance as policy holder and me as named driver but the quotes are £1000 + Does anyone know anywhere I could try for a better price. Also my finance can't use her 4 yrs no claims on the policy for the escort can she?? Any help would be appreciated Cheers Sean

caled
Yeah, Quinn went under a while ago. And as stated, you're under 24 with no NCB. She has 4 years, but thats on another policy so wont count. You could do with ringing up a broker. There's plenty of them mentioned on these forums, adrian flux, keith michaels, chris knott etc
KNITERIDER
insurance has gone up anyway, you have no no claims, being a named driver isnt half as good for discounts as it was 2 years ago (ime) id shop around if i were you.
georgeh811
my missus is covered by them, they have gone into administration but all running policys remain valid, they just no longer accept new customers. From the details provided we can provisionally offer a price of £825. now im only 27 nearly 28 only bin driving over a yr and have no ncb looking at your age mine was only a 100 quid more when i was 19 on a si and that was with 6 points. so its not that great in comparison BUT gti's are higher insurance (even tho they are the same as an si other than trim) and insurance has gone up recently.
