Hi all im Daniel from gateshead next to newcastle. only just signed up to the website so getting used to it and thought id show my progress on my escort.

 

summary about me:

im 20 (21 in september) had 23 cars. vauxhall man but do like the odd ford. iv had 11 corsa b's,corsa c, vectra,astra van, astra mk4,mondeo mk3,fiesta mk5 zetec s,pug 306 hdi,pug 106 gti,renault clio,nova mk2 hatchback gsi rep, nova saloon and my escort.

 

some were bought for profit/to strip etc but majority were used daily. The corsa c got into total vauxhall hall of fame.

 

Any ways my daughter was born on christmas eve and at that time i was building a corsa b redtop which stood me well over 1.5k and i hadnt even bought the engine, when i realised the corsa was far too small for the pram and seen this escort on ebay viewed it and bought it straight away. My garage was broken into and had some gaz coilovers and morettes pinched from the corsa so decided to split it as it made me to paranoid, still have the car but will be sold next month. I did get the stuff back though

was advertised at £625 buy it now, offered him £400 which he replied no, told him to think about it he then replied £450 if it was gone that week. so paid £450 with loads of test and few tax

 

havnt modded it to much yet as iv been on the sick since 7/12/11 with a broken elbow and wrist so wages have been shite and the little 1 is here now.

things iv done are

ordered radio fasia so i can fit my cd player

ordered tax disc holder as didnt have 1

bought some gti rear spats off ebay already in silver for £12.50

just bought service kit (yet to fit)

and biggest bargain full leather !! not half! in immaculate condition, door cards and gti side skirts(missing 1 jacking cover) for £50

 

plans are fit/paint the above

lower 60mm, some alloys rs7's, rs 5 spokes, team dynamics ???

focus 170 brake upgrade

 

cars now off the road until 26th feb due to insurance so il be fitting the spats leathers door cards and servicing it whilst its off. tax is due 29th aswell then can sort out getting the skirts painted and colourcoded

 

going to clean it up use it for a while and see what happens. hoping to attend a few shows as my girlfriends cousin is ford crazy (building a 2.1 turbo c reg orion) and his mate has a mk1 fiesta immaculate thing ! will be tagging along with them hopefully at ford fair so hoping to see some other escorts for inspiration

looks tiday mate, i had one of thease when i was 18, silver paid £750 and it died within 2 month due to cambelt only ford that ever let me down, i've had many fords, Had 2 vauxhalls that let me down, one thing i noticed mondeo mk3, what happoned to this, i have one now and tbh, dont want anything else as i love it, anyways heres a pic of my silver one i had give ya an idea on how you'rs would look, i had the walnut dash too

Got rid mate was horrendous on fuel. Was pepper red 1.8 lx with 18" ghia wheels

Then decided to remove the old radio and fit the adapter fascia ready for my cd player to be fitted tomorrow

Oil in the bore. The car wasn't misfiring and never noticed it burning oil or smoking heavily so no idea why :/. Any ways fitted them all and only number 1 had oil in the bore.

 

Tomorrow I'm going to buy a sealent gun so I can tiger seal the spats on.

Hoping to buy some tinting spray to tint lower half of the lights

Going to use the engine flush I have and do a oil and filter change

Fit cd player

And tidy the bay up a bit

 

Then Sunday hoping to get back on the road after 3 weeks off due to insurance and get my new karcher pressure washer and snow foam lance out and give it a going over.

oil is more than likely the cam cover gasket weeping near the number 1 plug.

Tinting spray arrived so had a bash at doing the rear lights. 1st time ever looks alright may redo them at a later

If the weathers nice tomorrow and I can be arsed I might bring out the pressure washer and snow foam it and give it a good polishing and getting rid of any tar spots and overspray.

Selling the leathers and side skirts if anyone's interested

Decided to keep the leathers and sideskirts after travelling 500 ish miles from gateshead down to norwich 8 hour trip for my mate to buy a clio sport and the escort was faultless. I was thinking of selling and going back to vaux but decided to tidy this up and try get a couple years no claims out of her.

 

anyways seen a set of mk6 fiesta zetec s alloys for sale for £200 ono about 13 miles from me offered him my xbox 360 and £40 and he said yes so collected them straight away. good tyres and good condition, although getting refurbed for £100 next week hopefully. Thinking of going vauxhall anthracite or ford graphite grey?

 

secondaly bought some autoglym leather cleaner/treatment, going to dig out the leathers get them cleaned up and fitted in the next few weeks just need some spare time from work. Going to get the car colourcoded with the skirts fitted in around 2 months aswell

 

thirdly with me getting new wheels i though i best get her lowered, was wanting at least -60mm but seen some mk6 springs on ebay with 1m17s left and put £20 in. won them for £13.80 so bagain even if they are only -40mm. they'll be fitted around 2 weeks time.

 

im also looking to get the rear windows done medium tint and the front done light as the sun is blinding my 3 month old daughter that should be getting done after the wheels are refurbed. will post up a few pics

Look forward to the progress and theres no way you werent waiting for the miles to tick over for the right picture lol, at 80mpg you'd never be able to whip out the camera as well as catching 70.0 before 70.1 lol.....maybe im just skeptic.

 

White dials mate, such and easy swap and looks dah business.
