massivewangers
Had a brief go in one of these a few years back and loved it, it was ace. Would make a good fun track car I bet.
ScORTED
thats the plan track capable daily. the drive of this is fantastic, much better than some of the others I've had, factory billies, 6speed short ratio box tops out around 120, LSD, blah blahjust want a bit more power, originally plan was to go turbo but i honestly think it doesn't need to break the 200 mark
Ahmotorsport
My Granddad has one of these. Tis black. They're nice little motors i think, could do with the PAS taken off for my liking though. Good luck with it.
ganges
the missus has got the ordinary mkII (i think thats what it is), and i have to say even that is a nice drive, with the fun factor, would not like to let her loose in yours thou, she would trash it in ten min's, good luck with the plans, and yes please keep us posted
ScORTED
in case that didn't work ( ) this was the final thing that made me decide to go mx5 rather than subaru/evo/silly power car, plus most of them aren't very exciting unless your doing very very illegal stuff on private roads200bhp is easy with loads of off the shelf super or turbo charging kits and the engines seem to take mid 200s on standard internals with correctly setup management and care. I think I'll be happy with another 30 or 40horsepower and a few more ftlbs or torque. the upgrades will be mainly brakes and chassis related I was going to fork out for very expensive coilovers but I love the way it rides and handles as it is. Plans: Body work, face lift the front end , same at the back (sort the bubbling on the arches / sills asap)possibly some small oem skirts / cc'd mudflapsBrakes: braided lines, 5.1 or srf fluid track day pads that don't require warming up before useChassis: more bracing from the later model (need to check what it has already) considered a roll bar but tbh unless its fully functional I won't bother with the extra weight, don't want to lose leg room though.Wheels: factory enkies in white with some sticky tyres (possibly some R888's or similar for track days)Engine: will see what my engine man suggest but hope to get very involved in the build doing the work myself
lee grout
MX5.....I never knew you were a hairdresser Lol That will be cool once you done your plans and your right, its nice to be a bit different from the same old scooby/ evo vibe. Usually i'll dismiss non ford stuff but Ill keep an eye on this one.
