scottybo
kept getting told there were 2 different lengths of handbrake cables for focus hatchbacks.......even ford couldnt help me without seeing the actual car. which of course i dont have so ive bought both, ebay specials £20 a cable, and im sure i could just return the one that doesnt fit. hopefully full steam ahead. i will also be redismantling my zetec head soon as i made a bit of a booboo last time. at least im learning as i go and i havent done anything that cant be easily repaired! bongo
there are 2 different lengths... st170 which i got told are 16mm longer due to the bigger carrier to space the caliper out further on the st170. normal.2.0/1.8 which i have are a tight fit around the tank etc...even though 16mm is naff all ,it will help a bit. CossieSean
Can you do a write up on the rear brake conversion as looking to do this myself
scottybo
Can you do a write up on the rear brake conversion as looking to do this myself certainly can do my man, i was a bit worried about doing it myself at first but it appears a lot easier than you would think good old fords, just get a bunch of random parts from other cars and it all fits perfectly! the only issue would be the fact that the focus parts space the wheels out quite far, so the rear arch would have to be cut back or rolled, of course dependent on your choice of wheel, once again this sounds very daunting but ive done a few before and isnt as hard as it sounds
CossieSean
Do you know how much it spaces it out? i did a 106 gti rear axle conversion on my 1.1 before was done in a few hours once all the parts were collected, really interested to know how much it spaces it as was thinking of rear spacers on mines and this just makes the rear disc conversion sound even better for me!
