Craig855S
Apparently my Mobo can support up to 8GB of ram but it only has 2 slots. Currently got 2 2GB sticks in there and am looking to replace those with 2 4GB sticks but cant find them on ebay or Aria or anywhere? Do they even exist. Can find 4GB sticks of DDR3 fine.. Craig855S
Oh and then theres the frequency, is it better to have more ram of a slower frequency or less with a higher frequency?

Craig855S
cheers sid, I do have a 64 bit OS yeah. Is 8GB of 800MHz gonna be superior in ALL ways to 4GB of 1066? Or would there be situations where the lower amount of faster ram will be better?
bluliz
Are you actually using all of the 4GB of ram?
markbsi
your wasting your money. an ssd would give a better performance increase an you'll be lucky if anything your doing is using the 4gb you have
Stu
Are you actually using all of the 4GB of ram? You're always using all of it with Windows 7+. 8GB is noticeably faster than 4GB with only minor workloads. It's all about the system cache baby! RAM is faster than SSD! RAM is faster than SSD! 8gb ddr2 is gna set u back a bit though, especially in 4 gb sticks, depending on your processor socket (i assume either lga775 or am2) it might actually be cheaper to buy a low end motherboard and ddr3 ram. 8gb corsair xms is £26 for 2 4gb sticks!!!
