Jones
Selling my 1.4 LX as I'm after a 1.6 16v Si. The GTi is far too expensive to insure at the moment though. It's a shame shaun1988 sold his recently because I used his reg to get a quote and it worked out cheaper than my 1.4 LX.

Jones
Any 1.6 16v will do really, but I do like the GTi parts on it. Saves me buying them and bolting them on myself
scottybo
si doesnt come with gti skirts and spats on man, differences between the si and base models are a few electrical goodies, fogged bumper, spoiler and a white dash. i know this as i had a very early mk6 si (95!!!) get a base model and do the bits yourself! i actually have in my possession a full SI interior, and a spare set of spats and skirts so all you would need is some wheels and you would have yourself a sporty looking car right away! Jones
I would Scott, but I want a 1.6 16v. If it would cost me less to do that, and convert the engine to a 1.6, I would. But I can't afford to be car-less for a long period of time and I simply can't be arsed.

I spoke to the insurance company when I put the ss exhaust on, as soon as I produced the fact that it was stainless steel therefore wouldn't rust, it came with a lifetime gaurantee and was actually cheaper to replace than a standard ford exhaust, it actually lowered my premiums can't argue with that. Don't be scared of telling them, it might work in your favour.

Direct Line where the worst ever followed by Endsleigh. been with Co-op for last 3 years as no-one has beaten their renewals . just my experience when your thinking of what car to buy next. hope you have luck finding a peachy 1.6. if I spot one, I'll let you know.
