LOL!! I wish I did buy a tonka toy, love the car, nice and spacious and comfortable, getting 25mpg at the very best though, if I decide to have a bit of fun then get through £30 in 45 miles,

well thats just pants. Does it have a stupid cone filter as they make these guzzle. If it does get an airbox and it will improve

nope, standard air filter box, does about 20-25mpg driving very carefully, decide to have a bit of fun and it goes down to about 10-15mpg

So a SUYM thread where no showing of motors occurs? Moderators!?

see page 1 :pancake:

these pictures actually make the car look worse then it is lol ha ha, having said that, the car is a rubbish heap any way lol, but for the price I paid with 10 months mot and 6 months tax, cant really moan, gets driven maybe once a week, so should not really moan about fuel either I guess lol, the size is very ideal as I have 2 babies (13 month girl and 3 month boy) so the massive boot is ideal for the double buggy, I do miss the escort though and do regret selling it, Hmmmmm

Silver cars are the worst for painting as can see the blowover it has had in the past then the drivers door being replaced

But other than that, looks alright. Had acess to one in the past, it went ok. I know how you feel about fuel. Was drinking it like an Binge Drinker. however if your're sensible its ok.

if by "blowover" you mean it has had a respray, it has not had a respray, but has had a replacement drivers door as a motorbike side swiped it, the door is the wrong door I think though as the door trim does not line up, the car could do with a good wash, wax and polish, just never have time, always working if it is not raining, and can not really wash, wax and polish a car in the rain . . .

will keep with the car for a year and probably get a 1.8 zetec version or maybe get another escort by then as i will not need a double buggy(there for not need a massive boot), Hmmm

2 shades of silver on the mk2, stardust and moondust and they are very similar but it looks like you have a moondust door on a stardust car as moondust is a little darker.

2 things to do that should help your fuel consumption a bit for very little outlay are 2 bits of cleaning. Take the upper IM off and clean it out as well as the lowers. The crankcase breathers feed in just in front of the TB so as mileage increases you get all the oil vapor settling and gunging up the inlets. Also some of the 2.5 v6's have EGR which is normally the older ones. can either remove it which is best option or just clean it out. Luckily mine being a late one has factory blanked off egr.

Looks quite a tidy example

Depends on how good your bodyshop is, mine had all the dings and touch ups done, and on the metal you can not see them at all.
