Andy 3i
I've just put a 92 xr3i loom into my car, but went to start changing the pin outs on the ecu and my injectors are in different places, I've got no idea where the octane adjust or the pats wires are...where the guide says take wires from they're all empty . So I was going to start it on the 130 ecu just to see if everything works but that's not the permanent fix. Any help on this would be appreciated...spent an hour scratching my head at half 12 last night
Andy 3i
Some additional information that could either help or hinder - the xr3i has a 2FCD ECU and I've got a DESK. I've rang ford and they're apparently too old to give me the exact wiring diagrams. I read somewhere that you can buy wiring diagrams from etis, but ford use etis and they couldn't find it. I can only apologise for all the questions I'm just stumped...the rest of the loom and fuse box change is simple enough (if you haven't got burnt out wires like me). JC
Do you a copy of ford tis off eBay or auto data?
Andy 3i
I've got autodata 2011, but I've heard that it can be inaccurate . As for etis, I rang ford earlier and they said they have no info on it Edited January 11, 2013 by Andy 3i
Stu
I can find them on eTIS....
Andy 3i
I've found them on autodata, but I'm really confused to be honest...lots of differences apparently. For instance the Mondeo has a crank sensor input where as the escort doesn't, the ac compressor is an output rather than switched earth, the engine control relay is a switched earth rather than an input, ignition control is totally different...the list goes on. I'm probably in way over my head...would anyone take a PayPal payment to sort it
Stu
I'd trust eTIS over AutoData. You can buy the diagrams you need yourself: www.etis.ford.com
Andy 3i
The point I'm trying to make is basically I'm properly stuck...hence me saying does someone want to sort it for PayPal...I just don't think I know what I'm really doing. I don't know what needs to be swapped, made an earth or removed all together.

Andy 3i
So is that my issue? Trying to use an external pats ecu with a pre pats loom?
etrebus
So is that my issue? Trying to use an external pats ecu with a pre pats loom?that may well be the case . mabe you need a external pats wiring loom ,definatly desk is external you may still be able to use the desk ecu .as far as i know there is three different pin outs for the eeciv ecu's non pats/external pats/internal pats i think i have external pats /internal pats pin outs but unsure if the non pats is correct as it says typical pin outs
Andy 3i
Ahh...I've just spent ages putting an entire pre pats ecu in. Oh dear
supersport
i used a haynes manual to wire my MK5 up, mine has a MK6 plastic inlet with a re-pined MK5b loom running a MK1mondeo 1.8 115ps ecu, you just need to trace the wires from the plug back to the ecu connector and move the pins.
