2 litre oil filters

Hi Guys

 

Im looking for advice on which oil filter to use when fitting a Mondeo silvertop engine in an Escort. I know the CVH filter will fit the engine and is 80mm long would it clear?..

 

As i havent fitted the mondeo lump yet I would like to know from someone who has done it with mondeo pump what will work?...

 

Plz dont tell me to fit escort oil pump as i have a brand new Mondeo pump that came in a job lot of parts and therefore want to use it.

you can keep the mondy pump if you fit a smaller filter and remove the brace to the engine mount

 

your other option is could you put the internals of the new pump into a escort one .would be better to fit a escort one if you could

For mine I used the escort oil pump and use the escort filter.

When I put a 2.0 in my fiesta I used the mondeo oil pump and a ka oil filter.

rs turbo or when i went to my local motorfactors he gave me the smallest zetec one,but to this day dont know what it was off.

I was thinking about that too as my escort pump only has 25k on it. As long as there's no wear on the casing that will be my fav route

I work in a factors bud, the later ka from 2002 onwards takes the same filter as the zetec engine, the earlier ones 1996-2002 take the CVH filter. The unipart numbers for the later filter is GFE375, and the number for the earlier one is GFE348

 

Also all Zetec engined mondeos and escorts have the same oil filter the GFE375

25k is nothing i would check it inside first and if ok then fit that one

Here the difference between a CVH and Zetec filter from when i put a Zetec in a 68 Cortina.. By the way back when I did this 2005-2006 the donor car was £20 as scrap value was so low..

 

it was bargains galore!
