Turner
I haven't used this site for a while but have recently rediscovered it. Having driven a 1.6 Escort for the past 7 years I felt it was about time I got another car. I wanted something more spacious than the fiesta and with more power than the escort. So, I found this advertised on ebay for £2300, 69000 miles, with a years MOT and 6 months tax. For a 52 plate it's in excellent condition. It fits the bill nicely, plus my older brother has a fiesta ST so would only accuse me of copying him (how childish I know ) Frankly the performance and comfort doesn't compare to the escort. Don't get me wrong I loved the escort and it never let me down on the road. But this is just in a different league. I read a lot about the ST being down on power, but anything over a 100 HP was going to seem quick to me...and this is! Major service at Ford's next week and a timing belt change next month should see me through until the next MOT. So far so good! http://imageshack.us/a/img822/5770/20130401194643.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img441/687/20130401194939.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img841/8634/20130401194632.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img801/9166/20130401174508.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img32/3360/interiorsj.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img24/9909/baym.jpg

hicksy
Looking good mate! Not that im biased towards Magnum Grey ST170's Seeing this made me look for pictures of mine, and ive realised i havent taken any pictures of it for months These pictures might give you some inspiration http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w200/tomhicks1/170/IMG_1002-1.jpg http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w200/tomhicks1/170/IMG_1004.jpg Ive not lowered it on Eibach suspension, and i can thoroughly recommend it!! Andy 3i
Looks good! Always had a soft spot for the mk1 focus. I also nearly bought one of these a bit back, but in imperial blue...forgot about magnum grey!
Turner
Nice looking st that and not a bad price as well Thanks nice mate nearly bought on of these awhile ago! looks clean! not a bad price either!Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised to find it in quite decent nick both inside and out. There is some rust developing on the exhaust but it's currently superficial surface corrosion. It does give me an excuse to look for a nice cat back though Very nice car love the wheelsYes, the multispokes suit it very well. Looks great get some mud flaps on the front bout 25 from ford Good idea. Found these on ebay Mudflaps Have you fitted any yourself? My brothers rear mudflaps on his fiesta were a pain to fit, awkward positioning of brackets etc. I assume these just clip on though? Looking good mate! Not that im biased towards Magnum Grey ST170's Seeing this made me look for pictures of mine, and ive realised i havent taken any pictures of it for months These pictures might give you some inspiration Ive not lowered it on Eibach suspension, and i can thoroughly recommend it!!Lovely car. Those angel eyes look great. I had some on my escort, although the build quality and fit was quite poor. They look pretty snug though. What splitter do you have on the front and how did you install it? I'm currently looking for an aftermarket cd player as the current one isn't MP3 compatible. Any suggestions? You thoroughly recommend not lowering it? Looks good! Always had a soft spot for the mk1 focus. I also nearly bought one of these a bit back, but in imperial blue...forgot about magnum grey!Yeah, likewise! Imperial blue is a stunning colour. I think they were a limited edition (correct me if I'm wrong), they sell for more I know that!
Hezz
I think hicksy is saying "now" lowered the ford flaps have 2 clips and a bolt that goes into a factory hole
Andy 3i
I'm not really sure, but I was offered it from a good friend for £1700 on a 53 plate with 67k on this time last year. Never mind eh . Either way I'm jealous
Turner
I think hicksy is saying "now" lowered the ford flaps have 2 clips and a bolt that goes into a factory hole I see, I thought that sentence was contradictory. I hope to keep it as standard as possible really. The ride was rough when I lowered my escort, this is comfortable at the moment. In that case I may just order myself a set of mudflaps! I hear a lot of commotion on the focus forums about replacing an air deflector under the bonnet. Is this a lot of noise about nothing?Air deflector I'm not really sure, but I was offered it from a good friend for £1700 on a 53 plate with 67k on this time last year. Never mind eh . Either way I'm jealous That sounded like a bargain! Edited April 7, 2013 by Turner

Bilee
Lovely colour. I'm after a 3 door 1.6/1.8 in the same colour at the moment. Frankly the performance and comfort doesn't compare to the escort. Don't get me wrong I loved the escort and it never let me down on the road. But this is just in a different league.Having driven a bog standard MK1 2L Focus Zetec for a few days after passing my test (prior to owning my MK6 1.4 Escort in 2009), I can totally relate. The escort felt very outdated in comparison, still adored the escort despite it driving like rubbish as it was my first own car.
