Andy 3i
Fitting them to a 2.0. What's entailed? Aftermarket management?
Stu
Fuel pump, pipework, manifold, carbs, throttle linkage, tuning. You can keep the original ECU to do spark control. You'd be much better using bike throttle bodies though as it can be hard jetting bike carbs for a larger displacement engine. scottybo
throttle bodies would require aftermarket management. the fuel pump would only need to be one from a carbbed vehicle. u only neeed to reduce the fuel pressure. otherwise it would be very easy. the current fuel lines could be used i dno what stus on about. and was for throttle linkage. just use the current throttle cable. the carbs should all be bolted together and the throttles will all move together. the only issue would be getting a manifold. but they can be bought ready made now anyway

Also you may not be able to use the standard throttle cable, it depends what's needed on the throttle body/carb end.
Andy 3i
I found a set of r6 carbs for a steal on eBay although in not sure if they're carbs or throttle bodies. It just got me thinking...but it does sound like a bit of hassle
Ahmotorsport
It would be when it came to MOT time with carbs.

Ahmotorsport
My car goes through a non cat test anyway Win! Honestly though, if you're set on Carbs get some Webers on it. Look better, sound better, easier to get jets for.

Andy 3i
Hmm...the idea is good but I don't know if it's practical to try and fit bike carbs to my daily
Ahmotorsport
Hmm...the idea is good but I don't know if it's practical to try and fit bike carbs to my daily Set them up right, they wont be any trouble. Sure, they'll need balancing up every now and then but throttle bodies would be the same (the throttles that is) They don't cause a lot of grief on bikes do they? Andy 3i
Well there is that...it would be getting the fuelling and sorting wiring etc.
scottybo
wiring...irelevant, there carbs they dont need any wiring so thats that sorted. fueling....run your current fuel line into the fuel intake on the carbs. go out and get a mk5 fuel pump from a car that had a carb on it done, ooooor get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and turn it right down so theres sodall pressure, i may not be as knowledgable as some of the guys on here when it comes to escorts but i know my stuff about bikes
