All the apps you need are free though, so it won't cost anything to unlock it yourself. If your concerned about doing the JB yourself.... I did a little investigating into jailbreaking when I did my sons old ip3 and ipod, its as straight forward as the whole Android rooting proceedure (I could manage it so that should speak volumes) and afaik its reversible afterwards if you so wish too after unlocking.
