sidrick
What exactly are you asking? Why is your limit £1.5k if you're going to spend the guts of £1k on the mentioned mods afterwards? Edited August 2, 2013 by sidrick
Stu
This is not a mechanical forum question.

Craig855S
Can you afford to insure an ST170?? If you can get it, and dont waste money on a bluefin, if you must change the exhaust then so be it but dont waste money on induction kits that give no gain (if you want noise just drill the bottom of the filter housing)

MikeyRS
Id go for the focus 2.0 zetec. The fiesta is a fun car, but lacks out and out power unless going for an engine change. The St170 is a good car, but ive found it to be lacking in some respect. Its not a quick car by any means, and unless your going to convert to solid fly and 5 speed i wouldnt bother. The 2.0 zetec is the better all rounder, the focus handling is second to none when tweaked even very slightly. The gearbox is strong and the engine will respond to mods. bronze4door
I am driving a 2.0l focus on a v plate, its a nice car performs well and if I drive sensible round town I am seeing 31mpg, on a run I am seeing 45 plus, its also quick enough and surprises a few people and my friends. I was keeping up with an ST 170 round Silverstone the other year at ford fair in my mk6 escort 1.8 so I don't rate them and they are probably not worth the extra money on purchase or on insurance over the standard 2.0l focus mine is 2.0l ghia so has all the toys on it as well
