Stu
Any decent manifold will cost you at least £400. Anything less than that will just be rubbish like the Protech or Ashley stuff.
scottybo
thats what i expected to thats fine, i just wanted to ask if anyone could recommend a decent place that they have had a good experience with before i just wander in somewhere n get ripped off
Stu
Tony law make good exhaust manifolds. As do tube torque, if they're still around. What's the point, though? Why do you want one? Are you looking for big power? You could buy another Escort for £400!
scottybo
no im not looking for big power. my end goal i guess would be 150hp from the 130 1.8. now i am aware thats a fairly tll order without fancy parts like turbos etc. but id like to think that a good exhaust and some throttle boddies would see me that figure
scottybo
emailed tony law. awaiting reply
bongo
with throttle bodies you'll easily reach that if its a 130. £400 rs2k engine galaxy 2.3 engine some machinig =170-180bhp and torque to match
scottybo
just got email from them, £300 and 2 days with the car and bongo, that would more of a long term project for me, but i do like the sound of it and i know where there are a few 2.3 engines just out of interest why do you need to change the rs2k head onto the other bottom end? whats wrong with the head it has? sidrick
Seems a lot of money, though will no doubt be quality kit and have resale value should you come to sell it. Is the EM something that is limiting you reaching your target power?
scottybo
i very highly doubt it but every little helps and as you say it should be a good quality piece of kit. once the engines in ive budgeted for about 1.5k to get the the car to where i want it. bongoes idea sounds nice. consider it seriously as a more long term project
Stu
1.5k is nowhere near enough for what you want. I wouldn't bother. 1.5k would get you an rs turbo engine which would knock your plans into last year.

sidrick
surely i could get a zorst and some throttlebodies for 1500 quid. even if the bodies are seconnd hand It's not the hardware that costs. What management will you run and who's mapping it? That's where the money goes.
