Like I say, there's no escort (certainly no escort MK6) with a zetec 2.0l as standard. The fact that the only 2.0 mk6 was the I4 is even more worrying, as i'm sure many insurers will relate a 2.0 conversion not to the 2.0 mondeo it came from, but to the RS2000 escort. Andy 3i
Just to throw a spanner in the works...mine is all declared, engine numbers etc. insurance know that it's a 2.0 Zetec not a l4. It's interesting though that a good few years ago (maybe 4-5) I was reading fast car and there was an article in there about needing an engineers report and that the work had to be carried out by a qualified vat registered garage. Now I sent my log book off probably around 8-12 months ago and DVLA didn't want anything, I just received a nice new log book with a new engine number. And it's insured through Adrian Flux. Has been for years . In response to the above reply, mine used to be a 1.4 and Adrian Flux used to insure it, but when I told them about the engine change they just said "ok, pay us x amount and it's fine". I am surprised it went so smoothly seeing as I'm a mechanic and insurance companies hate mechanics Edited September 27, 2013 by Andy 3i
