We quote around £7k for that package. It may be less, may be more, depending on the final install.

 

Typical spec is :-

 

2.1 Zetec (Fully blueprinted & balanced)

Steel Rods

Mahle Pistons

The right inlet manifold (no, 105PS ones arent the same as 130PS, contrary to popular belief!)

T34 Turbo (our spec on wastegate)

Prototype Injectors ;)

Escort turbo exhaust manifolds + adapter plate

Pectel T2 ECU

WRC-quality Wiring Loom

Transporting and mapping on the dyno (ahmed bayjoo)

+ lots more

 

It's hard to convey just how much work goes into making one of these. A real proper job, with decent breathers, piston & rod modifications, all the machining, head rebuilds, it's so many hours work - but you get a proper engine. One that should last you 50,000 miles. Whether or not the rest of your car does it another question :) Realistically, 320bhp in fwd is silly and you'll only really get traction in 4th (in the dry). If you run an ATB, you'll spend all your time fighting to keep it in one lane. It's a real handful (look at SOY, one of our other customers), that was spinning the tyres in 5th - ~340bhp). Personally i'd get a non-steel engine, perhaps running EEC-IV (which we can live map). It'll knock a good couple of grand off the price. You could probably get a complete eec-iv based package for £5k or under, all done. :thumb:

i'd want the 'best' for 7k too ;)  :D  plus proper transmission, suspension and brakes....

 

as you say though, sod that power in a FWD :O

 

I know what injectors ya using too :D , if they are Harvey's spec ;)  Giles from GSport is good mates with Harvey :D

 

I'm not sure what Harvey runs, I think he had some of these from us and Ian. Not really sure how they exchanged hands at the time :)

 

You won't get transmission, suspension and brakes for 7 grand - not with a steel 2.1 with T34 and Pectel. Not unless you steal parts.

you misunderstood, I meant 7k, PLUS all the rest, a good 2k's worth, sod that :D

 

I know what you meant. Perhaps a rough breakdown will inject some reality into this :-

 

2.0 Donor / Machining / Head Rebuilt = £800

Farndon Steel Rods = £800

Mahle Pistons = £600-700

T34 Turbo (Outright) £800

Pectel T2 = £800

Wiring Loom = £350

Inlet Manifold / Sump / etc = £200

Injectors = £300

 

.. so far £4950, and this is just parts.. nobody gets those parts considerably cheaper than that.. and then you have £800 dyno+mapping.. so thats almost 6 grand.. and then all the other bits and bobs, gaskets, head gasket, seals, oil return pipes + modifications etc.. and as you can see, not much room left for labour from 7 grand..

 

Unless someone is willing to sell parts for less than it costs them and do the labour for nothing.. well then i'd be using them too.. :D

dave if your going for bodies i got quoted 3100 inc vat for 220bhp based on a 2.0 engine. they supplied, head, inlet manifold, bodies, dta management, head bolts, cams, etc

 

that was from www.cnccylinderheads.co.uk

 

bet they wont gaurentee that?

dave if your going for bodies i got quoted 3100 inc vat for 220bhp based on a 2.0 engine. they supplied, head, inlet manifold, bodies, dta management, head bolts, cams, etc

bet they wont gaurentee that?

 

i guarantee they won't guarantee it :D

The only way you will see 220+ BHP NA from a zetec is with 48mm Jenvey bodies and Pectel management plus all the other goodies that you can get. Oh and an 'understanding' bank manager.....

 

indeed. Jenveys and Pectel is knocking near 2.5/3k on it own :)

 

then theres £700-800 quid of head work, plus a steel bottom (serious £££££££) end if ya doing it really properly....

on throttle bodies that is,45's dont need 48's

you swapped ya I4 for a Zetec? got any pics? car sounds class :drool: who did ya work? With a price tag like that i'm thinking Dunnell?
