Slid off road into concrete posts and metal rails!

Basically crashed my car a couple hours ago! :nutter:

Was having a barney with the misses, come to this corner after a bridge too quick (nothing too aggressive though) Very damp, slippery - old man fell over walking back to van!) and went up curb into two concrete posts with small round rails inbetween.

Car ended up parallel with road, jus on a small grass bank, gounded on rails and concrete! 8o

Thought it was really bad...worried about police turning up and getting a nice big bill for repairs etc.

Got it out with a mates truck...pulled the car back a bit and then lifted the front round. Taken home and sat on drive now. Damage might possibly only be a new tire, new rad and front bumper! Headlights and bonnet somehow managed to come out intack! Damage really only looks like that...but will jack up tomorrow and have a good look. Fingers crossed

Got parts waiting in scrap yard already - bloke said he has loads of zetec escorts in there! Spot of luck!

Loads of pics on mobile but no cable to transfer them! I will get some in the morning with proper camera and post up!

Sorry for the big post with no pics but thought i'd share my night with you...and i'll more than likely be doing a progress thread with the car if repairable...thinking now might be the time for an upgrade?

Finally found phone cable!

Here are pics as promised...picked up new rad and housing today, and also a mk5b cabby bumper (no mk6 bumpers in scrappy-gonna try and customise this one! My laguna splitter survived!)

Sorry to hear that m8,

doesnt look to bad thou.

Fixable.

R the angels headlights ok?

They wud be expensive to replace

Headlights are UNTOUCHED (and cost me over 200quid so im happy they werent damaged)....i cant believe it! Got rad and bumper free (dads mate owns a scrappy) so repairing cheap. need new tire and gotta spray bumper (gonna try myself....prob just temporary)

By the look of the second from last pic it looks like the railing has been stopped by the bottom arm, At the most from what I can see suspension wise I reckon you'll get away with a bottom arm and tracking set ;) Would of throught that the bumper would have at least pushed the passenger headlight up by the way it's been hit! Lucky man ;) As long as everyone involved is ok tho that's all that counts, metal can be replaced :thumb:

quite an impact there but not many broken parts, lucky. Idea for front bumper sounds good but i reckon it'll be rather hard to customise without using a mk6 bumper top half. recomend just getting a full mk6 bumper from ebay/evo or other scrappies. And def re-use goona,or get a cossie splitter
