Sorry meekstaaa :))

I've been real busy at work, friday night I'm hoping to dismantle the gearbox to install the rs turbo LSD - I want to do this before I reinstall the engine and 'box :)

Been putting this off a bit, que a late night of Mc D's and a crate of redbull :D

The only other update is I think I'm going to fit the cyclone arches but firstly roll and flare the arches out, then I can step the wheels out to maximum effect :) Only NEED to sort the engine first! :thumb:

You can use a S1 RST lsd equipped box in a mk6, but you cant use a S2 one because of the sized of the gearbox casing.

Apparently the LSD from the S2 box has the same bolt pattern as the IB5 open diff, so it can be fitted, but the S1 diff has a different bolt pattern.

The BC box from the rst has smaller bearings, so in theory they will wear out quicker than the larger bearings in the IB5 box because smaller bearings can take less loads than bigger ones.

In theory it is easy, open up the box, unbolt the open diff, bolt in the slipper, close box.

Thats what I thought, then I thought I'd be clever and buy a set of basically new ST150 gearbox internals to transfer over. I got new gaskets and bearings but run out of time for stripping down and rebuilding the gear stacks. Anyway now I have a broken 'box and a good 'box in bits, then the new internals and a complete spare box (which all have a square reverse sensor plug) and my current 'box (the only one with a round reverse plug in a slightly different place) :curse:

So friday I will dismantle my only good gearbox and reassemble it again before I forget how it goes... again

The new internals may not happen to be fair, unless I see any damage, but I will get my brother on camera duty and get some photos of the operation :thumb:

After checking the internals it all seems to be in fairly good shape, cheers anyway Stu :thumb:

Well I'm nearly there with the gearbox and I have a load of pics so I will hopefully be able to explain the process :)

Engine and 'box are going in this afternoon
