MG vs Forklift

Really not my day and really really mad and upset, picked up my lass's MG to take back for its retest, turned out of her street and meet a lorry on my side of the road, i go around the lorry and OH" a nice forklift truck goes straight into the side of the MG and opens it up like a tin opener, im going to a solicitor tomorrow but the bloke thinks hes not the one to blame, anyone on here know the laws of forklifts on public roads, he even had the forks at waist height. cant believe this could and did happen :vangry: :vangry:

a lot of pics sorry but the bloke moved the forklift back a hell of a lot after it happened

pretty safe bet that is fooked ,pretty sure if on a public road without tax etc they are bang to rights and when moving around the forks need to be no more than 6 inches of the ground and tilted forwards ,ask gti.tom later as he may give you a better idea Edited by 1pukkadeal

I'm qualified as a forklift driver and health and safety states that you when in motion, the forks should be as close to the floor as possible and tilted slightly backwards (forwards can cause more damage to someone, backwards means the forks stick up and all they'll get is a whack in the shins).

And when parked, flat to the floor, tilted forwards.

unless you were on trade plates mate ,no matter what the situation you were not legal at the time of accident so you will be the one who loses out

As long as it's booked in and the test station can confirm it, that's correct

I see what you guys are saying ,but you know how funny insurers can be ,if there is a loophole to get out of paying a penny they will ,as at the time you had no mot or tax no matter what the reason, so best of british mark as I hope the company involved do pay in full
