I havent posted in here as I wanted to do my own little report from the day.

 

I'll start with an overall summary, it was AWESOME!!!

 

I was really happy to see the turnout, the car park had some great looking Escorts. Everyone turned up on time (give or take lol). Was nice to see some new faces, I know for a couple of people that it was their first evo event, they chose a great day for the first meet lol. Weather wasnt the best, but as we were inside all day that wasnt a problem.

 

Once everyone was signed in and all the cars that were running were moved around to the back car park, we we given a quick description of how the day would be run and also a demonstration run by a mk3 Golf that was pushing out 418bhp at the wheels!! It was immensely loud, which made one member eat his words about it being quiet when on the warm up

 

Didn't get any of the Golf, so here is one of the crowd.

Next up was mine, was quite nervous, but neednt have been as the old girl did well, was impressed with what the rollers claimed she has got.

My cars best run was 131bhp at the fly, 118bhp at the wheels and torque was 122, which was nice.

Some went home at this point, however a handful of us went out for a drink or several to celebrate such a good day. The hotel car park was made extra secure by parking wing mirror to wing mirror.

As I have said, it was a great day, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and it was a bloody excellent end to a great year with the shows and meets that Evo held and attended. Thanks to everyone that made the effort and turned up, hopefully report threads like this with the positive comments will spur more to come to similar evens in future (Trafford Meet in Jan haha).

 

Also a huge thank you to Trig for organising the day, Awesome GTI for being such a good host (eventually) and to Fast Ford for spending the day with us.
