Andy 3i
...decent tyres for cossie wheels? From posts, i think i'm going to go for 195/40/16. I believe this is what rennie had. What brand should i go for? I want a tyre that will last longer than 5 minutes, but give reasonable grip. Not really interested in track, just a bit of spirited driving. Remember, its going to be a 2.0 soon so it'll need a tyre that can cope Thanks guys
tezmanian devil
think i had 215/40/16 one mine and they wer fine, i had eagal f1's, but dont get them, the tread gone befour you even get out of the tyre fitting place lol. i'd get toyo 888's as that's what i have on the cossy atm and they're very good, plenty of grip, and lasting longer than f1's, even with a few burnout's lol
hicksy
In answer to the question camskill is where ive just got some tyres from, next day delivery
Andy 3i
I'll give camskill a try bud. What tyres would be recommended. I've got Avon ZV3's and they seem ok, but what would be a good alternative. Like i said, i want tyres that will have a fair life span as this is my daily drive, but i want some that will give good grip in both wet and dry. I enjoy spirited driving so this will need to be accounted for.
hicksy
Stu recommended eagle F1's as his number one choiceand federal 595's as his 2nd choice, ive just got a pair of federals, there fair priced and quite grippy
bluliz
Camskill sell neither of the 2 tyres I use. I use BlackCircles prices for fitted tyres then speak to my fitted and he matches.
Andy 3i
I currently have Federal Supersteel 595's on the rear. I only bought them cos they were cheap. Didn't think anyone rated them, although the tread looks nice.Bluliz - What brand do you use?

Squav
How about toyo T1Rs or continental sport contacts T1-R's don't last!
Craig855S
In all the other "what tyre" threads the T1R has been raved about and nothing negative mentioned about the life of the tyre? if u want a long life tyre get P6000s...yeah the tread is ugly as sin but they last forever..i also think theyre gripless wonders though
kris
what are toyo 888's like for an all round tyre? are they good in the wet? or are they only good in the dry?
hicksy
I had T1-R's on my old gti rims, they stuck like Shite to a blanket but didnt last 2 minutes. The federal tyres seem pretty fair compared to T1R's tbh
Andy 3i
Are these T1-R's Eagle? What about T1-S? How bad is the lifespan? How many miles would i be looking at? I've been tempted with ContiEcoContact Sport things for a while. BMW have them on most cars, so surely must be ok? M3's have them too?
Hezz
t1-r & t1-s are toyos, i've not had problems with either, and have lasted well for me
