Gonzo0
If i were to put a 2.0 Zetec Mondeo lump in my escort and told my insurance company about itWhat would it go down as For example a ford escort 2.0 or a Mondeo 2.0? And would it put my car in the same insurance group as a 2.0 zetec mondeo? Thanks
KNITERIDER
dont know about insurance group, but i bet your insurance would be higher than a 2.0 mondeo as its a modification.
charlie74
your standard insurance companies probably wouldnt cover you,,
ScORTED
different companies do it differently... ring around and find the best deal
ChrisKnottIns
It would be based on a Mondeo 2.0.

Stu
So my cover would say i drive a mondeo 2.0?? No.. but they'd generate the premium based on that car.
JC
So my cover would say i drive a mondeo 2.0?? No an escort! A lot of companies just won't cover you, some companies will want silly amounts and some will be reasonable

mykez69
make your mind up lol zetec turbo, throttle boddies, Rst, too many options? just do it! don't hold back, you can afford it
Gonzo0
make your mind up lol zetec turbo, throttle boddies, Rst, too many options? just do it! don't hold back, you can afford it Ive been going through them all and going with the throttle bodies. The RST would really stretch me in terms of running costs i.e Insurance, maintenance(alot on a 20 year old RST) The Zetec Turbo route is hassle more than anything, such as sourcing all the parts, then getting someone to build it then mapping it. Plus the cost of building one can get stupidly high. Whereas with the Zetec 190 package from M-tech automotive i can get a brand new 2.0 blacktop zetec engine with new piper cams, Jenvey throttle bodies, uprated injectors, valve springs, management, mapping, new clutch and fitting. So basically drive in drive out for just under £4,

So basically drive in drive out for just under £4,000 are the guaranteeing you 190bhp??? and what sort of torque figure? take it from someone who's done this..............DON'T. Spending 4k on a car worth under a quarter of that, and still not ending up with a 'fast car', is madness, trust me, please. As an example, take a £2500 Golf GTi Turbo, spend £200 on a remap, and it'll waste it in every way...... if you are daft enough to insist on spunking cash into a fairly worthless car, it HAS to be turbo'd in some way...... Gonzo0
It is guarteed 190bhp After its all been plumbed in they put it on the rolling road to make sure its 190. Not sur eon tourque fiqures. It isnt always about money. A lot of people who ive spoken to would hate to see me get rid of my car as its changed soo much and ive already put alot of money into it so why stop now just because of what the car is worth. If thats the case any point in Escort Evolution? Golf Gti are common as muck, my car would be unique
dutchkev
if your putting a mondeo engine in it it will be classed as the mondeo insurance group . so the finesse is group 7, whereas the mondeo is group 10, so in retrospect your escort will be a group 10 car simples!!
