Plates look cool as Fcuk, sticky pads FTW... no screws!

How did you manage with your rear plate? Do you have 2 stupid lumps in your rear recess instead of it being flush like the front ?

They're proper sticky too haha! Happy with the plates, look good!

Yea the rear had a couple of lumps but weren't too bad, rear plate fitted pretty flush TBH

I'd personally lose the ghia plate surround made, there's loads of space around the plate

I was planning to spray it grey like my wheels, rocker cover and grill (that i'm yet to do) :thumb:

Looking pretty good now TC, the mods suit the colour of car a treat :thumb:

:) Cheers mate!

You still got your green 'scort? I'm sure i remember you smoothing skirts and bumper/splitter?

UPDATE:

Few bits sorted over the weekend :thumb:

Jacked up ready for work

Engine as it was (horrible rocker cover & rusty heat shield)

Anthracite grey rocker cover fitted (from danposs86 on here)

Bit of a random one (wasn't planned) but my mate had some red engine paint knocking about so done this:

Primered up

Painted & fitted

Old brakes

New brakes (RS2K front brakes from mexico_16v)

http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj208/TC-DNB/Escort%20Cabriolet/18072010677.jpg

While fitting we noticed that these rubber bungs were too big - need to swap for correct fitting ones

http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj208/TC-DNB/Escort%20Cabriolet/18072010674.jpg

and that lower arms and bushes could do with replacing

http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj208/TC-DNB/Escort%20Cabriolet/18072010678.jpg

Anyway, pic of brakes fitted, alloys back on

http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj208/TC-DNB/Escort%20Cabriolet/18072010680.jpg

Apart from the bushes, really happy with the weekends work. Brakes no longer squeak and the car stops so much easier. Looks better too! Engine bay is tidied up and car is fully serviced. The fuel filter was so rusty, blatenly not changed for ages, sparks looked shagged and air filter was dirty as! Now running smooth as you like!

As always, comments welcome :thumb:

Today has also been productive - I have a mate who works for a sign company and they recently vinyl wrapped a whole car in carbon fibre effect - cost the geezer around £2k! Turns out he has some left over and has offered to wrap my wing mirrors (the lacquer was flaking anyway so saves me re-doing that!) Should have those back by tomorrow or wednesday - will get pics up ASAP, i'm still undecided how it's going to look.

Got a temporary drivers side wing mirror for now lol

While I had the door cards off I decided to finally sort my speakers out (fronts didn't work great - one was blown and one was just crap). Got some adapters and put my old Pioneer speakers from my Renault 5 in. 170W each much nicer than standard :P Also fitted some Vibe tweeters which I found down the scrap yard - just need to screw them to the door card somewhere when they are back on!

Starting to really hate that walnut dash and gearstick surround - looks tacky IMO

I want.

If and when i come to sell, i'll give you first refusal :thumb: oh, and on removing my wing mirrors this afternoon they had a sticker saying 'juice green'...I think this now confirms the colour of my 'scort :)

Ahhh, that will explain thedifferent with the "Juice Green Cabby Spoiler" that's on my car ;)

VERY slightly different shade to Autumn Green, can only been noticed in direct sunlight.

Carbon fibre vinyl wrapped wing mirrors :)

Kind of looks like normal black mk6 mirrors, until you get close and see the detail. Looks good from a distance IMO, contrasts with the alloys nicely

Have also swapped my gearknob surround for a plain black one, and fitted a fire extinguisher (just in case lol)

And door cards now back on with Vibe tweeters screwed in position. Sounds crystal in the motor - best sound i've had out a motor and no 6x9s in site! :thumb:
