Only problem is the vinyl is quite thick so its not stuck well, after a few drives its peeling at edges a bit. I'm thinking i may need to stick something extra round the lip of the mirror to keep it down? Other than that i think they look pretty cool and like you said, it's different. Ive also just bought some half-tint rear lights from eBay, and im bidding on some fully tinted (not heavy black, its quite light so doesn't look sh!te). If i win i will fit both and what ever i prefer will go on and i will sell the other set! Bought from eBay, turned out to be an EVO member. TC-DNB Posted August 22, 2010 Author Share Posted August 22, 2010 UPDATE: Well after changing brakes last month I noticed that the wishbones and bushes had some wear & tear (and one was genuine Ford, the other patent), so decided best to buy a new pair. Also while doing this noticed that driveshafts weren't greased up enough so sorted that too! [no pics] Have got ideas for a custom bonnet (including airbrushing - got a mate whos rubbish-hot at it!). Came with a white Ghia clock but swapped this for a new white Ford one with blue LEDshttp://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj208/TC-DNB/Escort%20Cabriolet/IMG_0076.jpg GTi wheel fitted, with a Fiesta Zetec airbag centre - much nicer than the 4-spoke wheel with lot's of wear!http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj208/TC-DNB/Escort%20Cabriolet/IMG_0078.jpg All finished, also changed the gearknob (again) last week - chrome Focus one with blue Ford top. Blue dash, blue LEDs in speedo, clock and interior light. Will take picture if i remember. Much prefer it, really hated the Ghia walnut dash and gear surrounds. Still need to spray RS & Lockwood lower grill, and need to work on bonnet design now. Have given up on lexus lights idea for now, as like the half tints, but its something im still going to try when i get some spare time. Will end this update with pic i took after cleaning the other day...will be taking the motor for a proper shoot when i find somewhere suitable. Chrome indicator bulbs a good idea! I dont think the lights look too bad with the standard fogs as the halos are white, so in day time look fine. I have thought about light smoking but not sure how it would effect the light output?Yea will be doing the grills soon, and for now im keeping the trumpets blue but will prob end up changing colour in time. Blue will match dash and GB badge on plate for now.Keep me informed with fogs Steve In regards to vents, anyone got ideas for placement? I have a set of Astra GTEs and Espace vents Looking good! Would be ok if i had a loud, wild bodykit bt i dont lol. One idea i had was GTE on bonnet (near airbox/induction kit) working, not fake! And maybe the Espace vents on boot (just dummy).
