Bogdan
Very nice Escort. I can only dream for such good brakes. Did you already had that steering wheel ( It's from MK5 ? ) when you bought the car ?

waynegc123
Just a bit of a SAD update Saterday I went for a drive and the car just went dead. So I pulled over and saw the cam belt came off, took it home and saw the tensioner pulley broke. http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/25574.jpg Replaced every thing and the car gave a few back fires and had my doubts. Took the head off and found this http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/25575.jpg This is the 2 valves that looks the worst, and another 8 more that was bent. And had also got marks on the piston as the valves got knackered http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/25576.jpg Took the head in this morning so hopefully I'll get it back tomorrow. scottg17
good that its running again, did you do the work yourself?, this is a problem with the tensioner pulley, im sure someone mentioned on here before that they have fitted a whole new kit to cars and as soon as soon as the car is started the tensioner just shits itself and falls to bits Edited October 24, 2010 by scottg17
waynegc123
Yup did everything except the head recon myself :-) When I got the import motor I didn't fit a new pully thats maby why it decided to bite my in the arse maby of rust or the bearing just decided to stop rolling. Got a brand new one now so hopefully it won't do it again. The car feels a bit more torquey low down, so maby my timing was out a bit, still taking it easy now the car only did 150km now with the new bits. caled
Good work on the head rebuild, hadnt read that before. The picture of your painted rocker cover is pretty awesome, too! Prefer the ST170 wheels, but really needs lowering - they make it look like a tractor!
