My New Scort

Evening all,

Firstly i would like to say that i am new here so please be gentle!!

Where do i begin? I've wanted an Escort for years after my ex moaned at me for a sensible car. So cafter having a corsa (rank) & a Polo (slow + boring!) i've returned to the blue oval with a Escort Finesse 16v...WOOHOO!!! Bought for the grand price of £206 of eBay. Normally these cars are quite rotten for that money but it had an MOT today and it passed with only an advisory about rot on the sills.

SO.

Here she is from when i started taking pictures of her today + things i have bought + fitted already!

just a quick one,

magnex 4" outward rolled back box,

k&n air filter,

16" mondeo 5 spoke alloys,

40mm lowering springs (being fitted saturday at work!),

gti rear spats (require painting + fitting),

rs2000 side skirts (require painting + fitting),

gti front bumper (requires purchasing!)

gti interior being fitted next weekend :)

so not much in only owning the car 26 hours!!!

how difficult is it to put a 2.0 mondeo block in btw??

my friend (fiestasiphil) put one into his Mk3 Fiesta Si, want to do the same! 90 bhp is not enough

Also i'm a mechanic by trade so fitting is no issue its just the wiring side of things :)

Prime example, went to get the wheels this afternoon and ended up putting the deposit on the interior! Would love to get the GTi steering wheel too...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm half leather!!

dude, you are a legend for finding that....first bodywork then i feel a visit to the breakers! can i still use the 1.6 exhaust manifold and exhaust or is better to go bigger and obvio use the 2.0 inlet etc

i assume i can use the original zetec loom hense changing the wiring at the ecu end

yep can use original,

you'll need to find a 1.8 inlet and piping as the 1.6 is smaller and the 2.0 one dont fit.

yep use oe loom just swap pins around.

they actually look nice as they are in matt black

i thought that until i put them against the car and thought.....no!!

just gave them a good rub down with some 600 grit, gonna do another layer of matt then 800 grit then some panther black with 1200 inbetween and then they will hopefully be ready to go on later this week :) (after being laquered of course!!)

just a quick question with regards to the 2.0 litre ecu, do i need a specific code ecu or does it just need to be a non pats ecu? only my mate who has a 2.0 in his si fiesta said he was told to use a 'deep' ecu or something else beginning with a d! Only my local scrappy has quite a few mk1 mondys but not with the 'deep' ecu. There can't be that much differance surely?????
