Well, as Stoo has already posted up about seeing a McLaren driving around today, I decided I'd try and trump him and say that I also have seen a few McLarens tootling around manchester today.

Thought you might like to enjoy the pics;

Was actually a really good day, with a good atmosphere. Looks like we can do things other than riot, eh?

*btw the pics are dark because a. it was overcast, which obviously worked well for Button as his wheel didn't fall off or anything, and b. I had to have my shutter speed high to make the pictures less blurry, the aperture was as wide as it was going.

So was Lewis there aswell or not?

Great pics BTW

Cheers :cheers:

I really want to get hold of a DSLR, Im using a Fuji S5800 bridge at the minute and whilst its good, I really want a DSLR for the shutter speed and rapid picture taking for times like that.

No, it was just Button.

I've got the fuji S1850 mate and I dont rate it at all compared to DSLRs. I actually prefer my previous camera which was a Nikon 5700 (strangely there is a fuji called the 5700 too) and that Nikon was ancient (still a digital superzoom/bridge though)

Is your fully adjustable like an SLR or does it ban you from selecting certain aperture/shutter combos? If i put mine in manual and select a fast shutter it restricts my aperture setting choice to just a couple isntead of every increment you could choose in aperture priority and vice versa

My mate had his S1850 with him, didnt look to be too bad? It certainly produced much brighter images at the faster shutter speeds than the S5800 did under identical conditions.

I've just tested, and my S5800 lets me select whichever aperture with whichever shutter speed on manual mode, all the same aperture sizes as listed in the aperture priority setting. Dont know why yours is restricting you. I assume its not letting you select the smaller apertures with the faster shutter speeds?

Im not totally sold on the whole bridge camera thing, they sell them as having the advantages of a DSLR with the advantages of a compact, but Im leaning towards thinking they have mostly the disadvantages - the cumbersome size being one of them. My main gripe though is the quality of the images, Ive noticed the S5800 gives you quite noisey images, and look nowehere near as nice as a semi-decent DSLR. But then again, you get what you pay for, I suppose! A DSLR is definitely on the cards for when I can get some money together. And I really want a good macro lens. Macro and HDR images FTW
