shawdreamer
tis a shame they got that muchly undeserved image, they seemed to fall straight into the Audi TT, mini cooper sub catagory of cars the instant they were marketed (egro driven by poo pushing hairdressers, individuals with their sexual organs inside their bodies or estate agents). think its down to the "first impression syndrome" so to speak..... Ive owned Ford Capri's of varying Mks and two tones paint jobs but never once have I had a bad perm, wore a cardigan, worked for CID,MI5 or any other government agency or ever for that matter felt the need to tear ass around london streets before diving out my car and rolling across its ample bonnet before firing my firearm at a dodgy dressed bank robber attempting to shoot me with a sawn off shotgun..... but one season of the Sweeney and that's it your one of "those" types are ya. my dads owned a bmw....... he's never been a drug dealer or black (even though I suspect that my rather large lips could point to some form of illicit affair between my mum and a bloke named Denzel who lived four doors down before I was born..... in which case disregard the "never been black" and the "never been a drug dealer" statement)
ScORTED
Update time; About a month ago I and two friends did a mass mx5 service and changed all the engine, gearbox and diff oils in our cars along with the upper and lower shift boots and selector bushes. I went for Gulf Fully synthetic competition spec oil. didn't get many pictures though http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/mx5rs/IMG-20120310-00173.jpg I have bought a fair few bits; an M3 evo auto dipping rear mirror as being low makes it a pain so thought I'd mod one to fit but haven't got round to ithttp://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/mx5rs/parts/e36dipper.jpg some sunvisor blanks so i can remove the sun visors as they're in my field of vision and some 40mm lowering springs, hopefully the ride won't suffer otherwise they'll be coming back off as I want them purely for cosmetic reasons. Bought a couple of race spec tow straps as theres sod all to tow with on a 5 (and they look cool)http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/mx5rs/parts/wil_tow_rope_r.jpg I'm also thinking of getting some larger wheels for every day use for looksand putting the Enkei RP01's I bought up for sale and using the standard wheels for the track. Due to one appearing for a good price I've also bought a mazdaspeed front air dam for the mk2.5 bumper I've got but am struggling to find the headlights for a good price. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/mx5rs/parts/04_MX5_FrontAirDam.jpghttp://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/mx5rs/parts/DSC00154.jpg Plans to uprate the brakes have been put on hold as I don't have a few hundred quid spare to buy the parts (although looking at what else I've accumulated it seems I maybe could have :/ Plans for now are to fit the auto mirror, lowering springs and the tow hooks, then remove the charcoal cannister from the engine bay and tidying things up a bit in there. shawdreamer
definitely leans toward the Dodge Viper look with that dam addition, I approve, takes some of the softer lines of the front that have encouraged the cars adoption into the "girls car" fraternity... gives a more manly appearance so to speak. two thumbs up from me. Tez162003
I'm actually loving that viper bumper. Great car, if i got one id want an old school 1.8 with pop ups fit lazy eyes, and just drift around everywhere on the cheap.
ScORTED
I'm busy trying to save money at the moment so just using it as it is and it still brings a smile to my face and I'm hitting over 30mpg even with enthusiastic use (its impossible not to drive this thing as its supposed to be driven) Edited July 31, 2012 by ScORTED
