Mike-evans
Noise was still there as soon as I started the car for work this morning.. about half way into the journey (7 miles), and noise disappears.......... Full drive home, and no rattling noise at all..strange.. Do I run it and see what developes, or still get new clutch fitted?
Mike-evans
Does anyone know if there is some kind of open area/access hole at the bottom of the bellhousing where I can view if anything has fallen to the bottom of the bellhousing? Ahmotorsport
Starter motor hole and TDC sensor hole, think that's about your lot. If you can get hold of a bore scope you might be able to get a look.
Mike-evans
Oh well thats killed that idea lol.... Wanted to see if one of the springs had fallen out of the clutch plate and fallen to the bottom of the bellhousing, now that the rattleing has stopped

Mike-evans
The car has been fine since this issue came to light. Ive not used the car over the last week due to snow... Just started it and ran it 10 minutes, notice a chattering noise coming from clutch area. Is it common for the thrust bearing to wear and get noisey? The one I bought of Phil sounded like a scalextric car when driven, embarrassing but feck me I was in fits.
tomsy
£250 for a clutch is a good price mine cost me just under £300 but i would be inclined to leave it for the moment and see how things develop.
